Berrettini’s Cringe Reply to Musetti’s Title Win Sparks Feud Talk

Lorenzo Musetti lifted a title recently, prompting the usual chorus of congratulations from fellow players. When asked about the win, Italy’s own Matteo Berrettini delivered a reply that left journalists reaching for the mute button.

Instead of a straightforward "well done," Berrettini’s answer stumbled into an awkward pause and a vague comment that sounded more like a rehearsal for a comedy sketch than a sports interview. The moment quickly became fodder for social media, with fans and pundits replaying the clip on loop.

The uneasy exchange has reignited rumours of a feud between the two Italians, a narrative that both players have not publicly addressed. While Musetti’s victory stands on its own merits, Berrettini’s puzzling response has added an unexpected subplot to the Italian tennis storyline.

For now, the tennis world watches to see whether the pair will clear the air on court or continue to provide the kind of off‑court drama that makes headlines more entertaining than the matches themselves.
