White House Announces Temporary Ban on Three News Outlets, Revokes Their Press Credentials

The White House Press Office issued a formal notice on Saturday stating that the press credentials of reporters from CNN, Politico and MS NOW have been temporarily suspended, citing a presidential directive to "protect the integrity of executive communications." Officials said the action is consistent with a broader effort to ensure accurate reporting on the administration’s activities.

The President’s Office released a statement describing the ban as a "necessary measure against misinformation," and senior administration officials reiterated that the decision aligns with longstanding practices intended to safeguard the public discourse. Representatives of the White House Press Corps expressed disappointment, noting that the removal of badges undermines the principle of a free press.
