From wooden spoon to top‑four: Shaw’s Suns finally see the light

Gold Coast Suns have surged from the league’s wooden‑spoon position to a top‑four berth, a turnaround that even the most hopeful fans struggled to picture.

Coach Shane Shaw, a highly credentialed figure, has apparently fallen back in love with the game, and his renewed enthusiasm appears to have rubbed off on the youthful, exciting squad.

The side’s energy is now palpable, feeling like a sudden burst of sunshine after a long spell of rain, and the atmosphere around the club reflects that fresh optimism.

Opponents who expected an easy win have been left staring at the scoreboard with surprise and a touch of bewilderment.

If this momentum endures, the Suns could finish the season in the top four and perhaps inspire other clubs to dust off their wooden spoons for display.
