OpenAI, ServiceNow Double Down on Enterprise AI Workflows

OpenAI and ServiceNow announced an expansion of their collaboration that will weave OpenAI’s generative models and autonomous agents directly into the ServiceNow platform. The partnership also lets ServiceNow’s workflow engine feed into ChatGPT and Codex, enabling developers to build AI‑powered applications that can trigger and respond to complex business processes.

The integration lets users tap into GPT‑4 and other OpenAI models for natural‑language understanding, code generation, and decision support inside ServiceNow’s familiar UI. At the same time, ServiceNow’s workflow logic can be exposed to ChatGPT, letting conversational agents initiate ticket routing, change requests, or knowledge‑base updates without leaving the chat.

For enterprises, the synergy promises tighter automation of routine tasks, faster incident resolution, and richer insights from unstructured data. By combining ServiceNow’s workflow orchestration with OpenAI’s language and coding capabilities, the partnership aims to reduce manual effort and accelerate digital transformation.

The rollout is currently in beta for select customers, with a broader release slated for the second half of the year. The companies say the expansion will be available through the ServiceNow Store and the OpenAI API, giving developers a single point of entry to build hybrid solutions.

While the exact pricing model remains unannounced, early adopters expect a smoother, more intelligent workflow experience that could cut support ticket lifetimes by up to 30% in pilot environments. The collaboration underscores the growing trend of embedding AI directly into enterprise software stacks.
