Paramount Fires Up Red Rising: Hunger Games Director Takes the Helm

Paramount Pictures has acquired the film rights to Pierce Brown’s bestselling Red Rising novel and brought on Francis Lawrence – the director best known for The Hunger Games franchise – to lead the adaptation.

The studio confirmed that writer‑producer Justin Rhodes, whose recent credits include Terminator: Dark Fate, will pen the screenplay for the first installment of the series.

Lawrence’s experience with dystopian, high‑stakes storytelling makes him a fitting choice to translate Brown’s blood‑red rebellion to the big screen, and fans can expect the same kinetic energy that defined his work on The Hunger Games.

While details of the project’s tone and scope remain under wraps, the partnership signals Paramount’s intent to turn the Red Rising saga into a major sci‑fi franchise.
