Police Swat Down Satirical 'Cockroach' Party Leader Ahead of Delhi Protest

Police swatted the head of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party, Abhijeet Dipke, on Saturday in New Delhi, just before the movement was set to stage a protest against the Election Commission.

The detention came as the CJP was preparing to rally in the capital, a move that the police said was to maintain public order amid strict security measures ahead of the protest.

The CJP, a satirical group that calls itself the 'cockroach' party, had planned to hold fresh protests in Delhi, but the arrest of its founder has thrown the organisers into a scramble to find a new spokesperson.
