Mott's bold move lands Attrition a rich breakthrough win in Sydney

Victorian jockey Jamie Mott missed out on a ride in the Caulfield Guineas. Undeterred, he headed east to Sydney and took the reins on Attrition.

The decision paid off in spectacular fashion – Attrition delivered a rich breakthrough win, giving Mott the kind of payday that makes a late‑season switch feel like a masterstroke.

Mott’s quick pivot from a missed Caulfield start to a Sydney triumph underscores how a change of scenery can turn a disappointment into a payday, and proves that sometimes the best rides are the ones you didn’t plan for.
