Navy’s Hidden Recorder Triggers a Traffic‑Jam of Inquiries

A recording device hidden behind a bulkhead on a navy ship was discovered, turning what should have been a routine patrol into a jam of questions.

The find has set off an investigation as authorities comb the vessel for any other hidden cameras and assess possible misconduct.

Senator Jacqui Lambie responded, calling for a zero‑tolerance approach to abuse within the defence force and warning potential recruits that they should think twice about enlisting unless the situation improves.

The navy says it is reviewing its internal controls and will take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
